The feeling is back….
….aolt of my writing is inspired by music….I don’t aways write about music , but music helps to inspire my thoughts….and I can honestly say that music just hasn’t been the same since M.J.died this past summer…..I haven’t really been listening to the radio, haven’t really watched any music videos….I haven’t read about any up and coming new acts…I kind of shut down on the music side……but have you ever heard a song so good it stays on your mind…..you find yourself singing it….next thing ya know you say I’m buying that album…..well I’m actually going to buy an album because I love this certain song……..it’s by Melanie Fiona the song is called “It Kills Me”……and I just really like this song…..no particular reason……it’s just a damn good song….. and I just had to tell somebody…….the album is called “The Bridge” by the way…..look her up…you tube…Google

Micheal Jackson takes his place with the Greats……
……..those are the thoughts that are going through my mind right now,I know everyone is in shock,some in dis-belief, maybe even some in denial, we all have our personal memories of Micheal Jackson, I will share mine with you……..I am fortunate to have worked as a radio disc-jockey,I got to host my own tribute show to Micheal Jackson last year,and I re-call that it was my most popular and favorite show to date (the post is still up on this site)……spending 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon just playing and talking about Micheal and his music, his accomplishments, his awards,etc….and sharing memories and hearing stories from the listeners…..it was a magical day, it really was……there is something special about his music that has touched so many and if you happen to be around my age then you realize most of his music shaped our child-hoods, so in a way you kind of feel that you have lost a friend even though I never meet him, I sure spent alot of time listening to what he had to say and watching him move across my t.v screen…..I am so glad I took the time to expose his music and videos to my 9 year old daughter,she actually said to me (after watching his videos) “I get it, I get why you guys like him, he is really cool” …. I was shocked and happy at the same time when she said that, her favorite song was”The Girl is Mine”….I thought to myself wow I wasn’t expecting that to be her favorite, don’t get me wrong I love the song also, but I was expecting her to say Billie Jean or Thriller or even P.Y.T, but she also turned out to like ABC and Rockin Robin….(kids will always surprise you)…..my favorite song is “Off the Wall”……..When the world is on your shoulders Gotta straighten up your act and Boogie down, I f you can’t hang with the feelin’ then there ain’t no room for you this part of town “Cause we’re the party people night and day Livin crazy that’s the only way………So tonight gotta leave that 9-5 up on the shelf and just enjoy yourself, Groove, let the madness and the music get to you Life ain’t so bad at all……..If you live it off the wall………Words to live by that is my Friday song, I play that when I need that little extra boost, or I wanna feel good…….

……Actually this is in conjunction with part one of the Tavis Smiley /Prince interview, we discovered alot about Prince in the first 22 minutes of his Tavis Smiley interview, here are some things we learned……..
-he is very competitive
-was teased as a child
-has a sister!!……I didn’t know that
-has a mean side
-dealt with Epilepsy as a child
-his father was hard on him
-likes constructive criticism
-doesn’t vote
-was deeply affected by Dick Gregory’s “State of the Black Union”
-finds that most people are respectful to his face
-but some have been disrespectful but he holds no grudges towards them
